If you have a pretty common name, you must know that at some point, you will meet someone else with the same name as you. Usually, it's quite funny and exciting to make a new friend with whom you get to share something as personal as a name, and no one should ever feel offended by that.

So, why does it bother some people to find out that they share the same name as someone's pet?

Pets need names too, and many pawrents like naming their companion with a name that fits both hoomans and dogs. And what is wrong with that? It's just a name. Who does it hurt if you name your dog Charlie or Lucy? Why should it bother other Charlies and Lucys if there's a dog out there with the same name as them?

It gets even worse when a hooman and a pet with the same name end up being a part of the same family. Suddenly, the idea of your aunt's name being shared with the fluffy furriend who eats stuff off the ground becomes unbearable to her, and it can make her take stuff to a new extreme.
